Giving agents the ability to build a world does not tell them what its author intends. The author needs ways to inspect the experience, point to what matters, and guide changes without translating every observation into a technical specification.
Alterno Spatial Review is an open protocol and TypeScript toolkit for this exchange. It connects the author’s feedback to the scene objects, relationships, assets, and source code an agent can change. A screenshot can show a problem; this structured context helps identify what the problem concerns and where to act.
The Spatial Review editor makes that context inspectable across scenes, camera journeys, and individual assets. Authors can review composition, movement, and construction, then return feedback tied to specific objects and moments. The agent applies changes to the original project; the review tool does not replace it as the source of truth.
The protocol is engine-neutral, with a current integration for Three.js. This website is one testing ground for the approach.
This reconnects with my research on human–agent collaboration: helping people apply their attention and judgment where they matter most, while giving agents the context needed to carry out their intent.
